Rudraprayag II

Easy day. Did nothing, except walk a bit.

First trip was for booze replenishment. It's 20 percent more expensive here than Varanasi !!!!

Second trip was to the confluence.

That totals to 11 kilos of down then uphill today. Earned my drink(s). Wore shoes. Made it so much easier that flip flops.

Got a bit fed up with aloo parotha for breakfast. Tried to convince the guy that I'd buy the eggs, and he could make the omelette. Did not work. So had aloo parotha. No more. Never again on this trip, till memory lasts or hunger catches up.

Walked up the highway, away from town before breakfast. Got on to a field. Could not get too close to the edges. Dung, of different animals.

The view, any time of the day, in any direction, is beautiful.

Got back to breakfast. Then headed into town for the booze trip.

Walked past the shop without seeing it. Then asked. And had it pointed out. It was in a basement with a tiny board. Well, got what I wanted and headed back, as it started drizzling.

Lunch was a change. Became adventurous, and asked for a pasta in white sauce. Was expecting Maggi. But this is what I got.

Was good. Spicy. Tons of sliced red chilli. And , a few more tons of Capsicum.

But, it was good. May just try it again, without the capsicum and red chilli. Instead, with normal human vegetables like carrots and beans and cauliflower and onions and garlic.

Anyhow, cleaned the serving. Clean.

Dozed, obviously, after that.

Headed out to the confluence in the evening. Got in after all the pujai was done.

Both the rivers were flowing that much faster. Must be raining in the upper areas.
Missed out on telling you about this.

The confluence is down two levels of steep high step stone (old parankal ) stairs.

The first takes you to the temple. The second to the rivers.

Going down when the steps are dry is trying. When wet, takes some doing.

Coming up kills the knees.

Leave you with a sight of Rudraprayag, the town.

I walk back across the bridge in the distance. Then climb up on the other side thru town to where the light is shining.

Off tomorrow to Sonprayag.

  1. Nice photos. Glad you could get a change in diet. Enjoy madirre.... In the meanwhile you missed the flooding at Patna.... You would been probably sailing in the Thar on the Ganges..
