Sonmarg

Went on a long walk after breakfast.

Started at 0830. Got back at 1330.

Walked a total of 8 kilometers.

Absolute glorious fun. Especially when I got done before the crowds started pouring in.

Else, would not have got a single picture.

There are going to be repeat shots, but at varying distances, and varying angles of the sun.

That is the path I walked up. Covered with pony shit. Never realised how many of them were in the area till I was on my way back.

Hate to butt in, but every vision was an image of beauty.

 Came down to a concrete path. Followed as the pony path had now disappeared, but the shit continued.

 Thought I had reached the end of the road, as a party of 6 on pny back were being turned around from where I had reached.

Was heading to a tea tent, when a tent owner asked me if I had really had enough, that the actual Last Point ( as they call the place turnaround should happen ) was further up.

So headed on with him.

Turned out he owned one of the tea tents there.

 

Got there by 1100. Sat around with him and the other tea tent owners for an hour.

Asked them to charge tourists dropping plastic double the fare. Got them start the clean up process.

Had a saffron tea and a maggi. Left around 1200.

The first of the mob was headed in as I crossed the stream point.

Headed across the grassland to avoid the 100 ponies coming my way.

Back to the hotel by 1430, after hiding away in the hillside for a while. Lots of rocks to sit on.

  Tomorrow deeper west.
